“Changing Face of Orange County Politics”

markpertracca.jpg

WHAT??? Hillary won in Orange County??!!! We are surely entering a new era. Who can help us understand the change in Orange County politics better than UCI’s own well-known and highly regarded political expert, Mark Petracca, Professor of Political Science and Associate Dean of the School of Social Sciences at UCI.

Mark is not only a super researcher, but also a great communicator. He has received numerous teaching awards while at UCI, while also authoring dozens of scholarly articles and books on American politics, political theory, constitutional reform, and public policy. He has testified before Congress and served as an expert witness in numerous high profile state and federal court cases. In his spare time, he writes frequent op-ed pieces for newspapers around the country, including Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News, Dallas Morning News, Orange County Register, and Sacramento Bee, including providing our community with insights into the politics of our own Orange County. He was a regular panelist on KOCE’s “Real Orange” for more than 15 years and continues to be an occasional guest commentator on PBS SoCal’s “Inside OC.

Don’t miss this interesting talk about our previously extremely Republican county and how it turned blue, and what we might expect to happen here in future elections.
